European Geological Data Infrastructure
A collaborative initiative aimed at facilitating the sharing, integration, and accessibility of geological information across Europe.
What is EGDI?
EGDI (European Geological Data Infrastructure) is a free online platform developed by EuroGeoSurveys to make harmonised geological information from across Europe easier to discover, view, and reuse. It connects authoritative datasets, maps and web services from national geological surveys and partner organisations, supporting research, education and evidence-based decision making.
Use EGDI to explore European geology at multiple scales and access key resources through the Geological Map Viewer and Data Search. These tools help you visualise and discover datasets related to lithology, geological units and frameworks, as well as thematic information on mineral resources and Critical Raw Materials (CRM), groundwater (aquifers, recharge and groundwater levels), geological storage and CO₂ storage (CCS), and coastal hazards such as sea level rise, coastal flooding and erosion.

Data Provider Support
If you have useful data (map layers, geological models or unstructured documents), which you would like include in EGDI, we will be pleased to tell you how to show them in our platform.
